Neil Tejwani was a contestant on Season
four of NBC's hit reality show "The Biggest Loser”.
He is 26 years old and hails from the small town of Marblehead,
Mass. just north of downtown Boston. As one of 18 contestants
and standing 6’2”, Neil had the highest starting
weight, tipping the scales at 421 LBS. With hard work
and relentless determination, Neil successfully managed
to lose 211 LBS. in just eight months while being on
the “The Biggest Loser”. The incredible weight
loss was the most pounds by any contestant on his season,
losing more than 50% of his starting body weight in the
process.
Neil is described as being very funny and
charismatic with his large personality; intelligent with
his worldly smarts, and being eloquently clear with his
words in a straightforward, honest manner.
There was a time in Neil’s life where
his health and future were in question. After having a
fairly athletic childhood, at the age of 14, he broke his
leg and started the beginning of a very inactive, sedentary
lifestyle. While earning his degree in chemical engineering
from Northeastern University, Neil’s doctor diagnosed
him with an array of health problems that include hypertension,
sleep apnea, and borderline type II diabetes. He was projected
not to see past the age of 30 if he continued with such
an unhealthy standard of living.
At one time, Neil even ballooned to more than
461 LBS. and was at the point of finalizing his date with
gastric bypass surgeons. With the help of his loving family
and fiancée Stefanie, Neil was able to avoid surgery,
rid of all his health concerns, and lose more than 250
LBS. from his highest weight. He has adapted a newfound
healthy lifestyle, and adheres to the philosophy “within
every great difficulty lies opportunity!”
Since leaving “The Biggest Loser”,
Neil has made appearances on “The Ellen DeGeneres
Show”, “Access Hollywood”, “Entertainment
Tonight”, “Talk Soup”, and the TV Guide
Channel; along with many other renowned television, radio,
print publications, and Internet media outlets throughout
the country.
Neil has now dedicated his
life to health & fitness
and is helping others reach their wellness goals. He
is currently involved with keynote speaking, health & fitness
related endorsements, and works as a weight loss consultant
through his company Neilz Health World using his experiences from “The Biggest Loser”.
Neil is also in the midst of studying for his personal
training certification, and he will soon be launching
a few projects which include
a book release and his new health food
initiative through Bistro MD. In addition, Neil uses his multi-talents
to practice his passion for stand-up comedy and acting,
and he will be booking performing dates in the near future.
